Preschool Journey (with Pocket Puffs)

Preschool Journey is an exciting new series of educational materials for pre-primary education with a focus on learning by doing. It encourages children to practice new skills and provides teachers with strong pedagogical support as well as plenty of practical ideas and tips for teaching.

The Preschool Journey materials are founded on integrative learning and whole-day pedagogy. This means that the child is constantly learning new things by playing, exploring, doing, and experimenting, thereby developing an understanding of how their new skills are connected to each other and their life.

The main characters in the Preschool Journey stories are Penny, Robin, and Lulu. During their preschool year, the children get to know the pocket puffs – small creatures that love playing pranks. The children will teach the pocket puffs the same skills they themselves learn in preschool.

The Preschool Journey series has three parts: the child’s book, the teacher’s guide, and the digital materials.

Child's book

Preschool Journey is a new kind of preschool book that takes into account each child’s skill level.

The book is divided into ten sections, each containing a story that has been illustrated and captioned in the child’s book. This allows all children, even those whose native language is not English, to understand the story.

The book includes a variety of exercises involving drawing, writing, and crafts. Each section also includes a game where the children practice the skills they have learned by working together.

By examining the exercises in the child’s book, the preschooler’s parents can follow their child’s learning process throughout the year.

Teacher's guide

Each section in the teacher’s guide begins with clear goals and a list of contents, basic everyday vocabulary, and book tips.

All activities have been designed to support the child’s linguistic and mathematical development, and the exciting tips, games and exercises both indoors and outdoors help the preschoolers practice important skills: working in groups, focusing, quieting down, processing emotions, self-expression, sustainability, taking care of the environment, and self-evaluation.

The teacher’s guide also contains a variety of exercise sheets that the teacher can copy for the preschoolers.
