Otava Learning is part of Otava Publishing Company Ltd. As a Finnish family-owned company, we have been promoting well-being in the surrounding community for more than 130 years, and we continue to evolve and develop our work. Otava Publishing Company Ltd is part of the Otava Group.
Otava Learning is a Finnish learning expert. We produce digital and printed educational materials for levels ranging from preschool to adult education, and we also provide schools with coaching related to changes in the operating environment. Our publishing programme is based on the Finnish curriculum and, as a general publisher, we produce content for nearly all school subjects. We also export quality learning content to other countries.

Learning content and services are the result of cooperation between innovative teachers and a large group of professionals. When producing educational materials, we work with approximately 500 textbook authors who have strong pedagogical expertise. We develop our products and services in a long-term and consistent manner. Our high-quality educational materials provide pupils with equal starting points for learning.
We understand everyday school life, we listen to teachers, and we support them in dealing with new challenges. We are involved in the process of educating competent and influential citizens. We are a partner for teachers and principals with regard to competence development and dealing with changes in the school operating culture. The first Otava ABC book was published in 1902, and ever since then we’ve been involved in building the Finnish education system. Our activities are based on diversity, open-mindedness and tolerance. We produce our textbooks in an environmentally friendly manner at our own printing facility.
